Well-known singer Karlien van Jaarsveld shares her recipe for a tuna and chips pie with us.
She says she is definitely not a cook of note and can’t survive without help from Woolies. With busy kids in the house she appreciates food that takes little effort and time.
6 to 8 servings
170 g (1 tin) tuna, drained
1 medium onion, grated
50 ml chutney
50 ml mayonnaise
2 eggs, whisked
100 ml full cream milk
125 g (1 large packet) cheese and onion crisps, mashed
187 ml (¾ c) cheddar, grated
- Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl.
- Spray microwaveable 20 cm pie dish with cooking spray.
- Pour tuna mixture into pie dish and heat for 12 to 15 minutes on high. The middle of the pie should just have solidified.
TIP
The cooking time will depend on the wattage of your microwave
