k –knit
p –purl

kfb –knit into front and back of same stitch
ssk – slip 1 st knitwise, slip foll st knitwise, put both sts back on left needle and k2tog
st st –stocking stitch – 1st row:k. 2nd row:p. Rep 1st and 2nd row.
tbl – through back of loop

Right hand

With 3,25 mm needles and Coral cast on 44 sts.
Work in 2×2 rib for about 18 rows, ending with 2nd row of rib.
With 4 mm needles and Lei Breeze work 2 rows in st st.

Thumb gusset

Next row: k22, kfb, kfb, k20. 46 sts.
Work 3 rows in st st.
Next row: k22, kfb, k2, kfb, k20. 48 sts.
Work 3 rows in st st.
Next row:k22, kfb, k4, kfb, k20. 50 sts.
Work 3 rows in st st.
Next row:k22, kfb, k6, kfb, k20. 52 sts.
Work 3 rows in st st.
Next row:k22, kfb, k8, kfb, k20. 54 sts.
Next row:p.

Thumb

Next row:k34, cast on 2 sts, turn.
Next row:p14 (including 2 cast on st), cast on 2 sts, turn.
Work in st st over these 16 sts only for 2.5 cm, ending with a p row. Cast off and cut yarn, leaving long strand to sew up thumb.
With right sides facing, sew up thumb edge to cast on st.
With RSF join yarn to last st on right hand needle, pick up and k 2 sts across base of thumb and k over remaining 20 sts to end. **
Work 2 rows st st and place markers (pieces of yarn) in 2nd and 21st sts of last row.
Continue in st st until work is 4.5 cm long from base sts of thumb, ending with p row.
(Pull the glove over your hand and see if it reaches the base of your fingers – cast off 2 rows if necessary, or knit 2 more rows.)

First finger

Next row: k27, cast on 2 sts, turn.
Next row: p12 (including 2 cast on sts), cast on 2 sts, turn.
Work in st st over these 14 sts only for 2.5 cm, ending with p row. Cast off and cut yarn, leaving long strand to sew up finger.
With rights sides facing sew up seam to cast on sts.

Second finger

Join thread to last st on right hand needle, pick up and k 2 sts across base of first finger, k6, cast on 1 st, turn.
Next row: p15 (including 1 cast on st), cast on 1 st, turn.
Work in st st on these 16 sts only for 2.5 cm, ending with a p row. Cast off and cut yarn, leaving long strand to sew up finger.
With rights sides facing sew up seam to cast on sts.

Third finger

Join thread to last st on right hand needle, pick up and k 2 sts across base of second finger, k6, cast on 1 st, turn.
Next row: p15 (including 1 cast on st), cast on 1 st, turn.
Work in st st on these 16 sts only for 2.5 cm, ending with a p row. Cast off and cut yarn, leaving long strand to sew up finger.
With rights sides facing sew up seam to cast on sts.

 

Fourth finger

Join thread to last st on right hand needle, pick up and k 4 sts across base of third finger, k5 to end.
Next row:p over all 14 sts.
Work in st st on these 14 sts only for 2.5 cm, ending with a p row. Cast off and cut yarn, leaving long strand to sew up whole glove. With rights sides facing sew seam to bottom.

Flap

With 3.25 mm needles cast on 22 sts in Coral.
1st row:*k1, p1, rep from * to end.
Rep this row 3 times.
Keep these sts on spare needle.
With RSF and 4 mm needles cast on 1 st and pick up and k 20 sts from marker to marker across back of glove. 21 sts.
Next row:p.
Next row:k21, k 22 sts on spare needle. 43 sts.
*** Work in st st till flap is about 9 cm long from cast on row, ending with a p row.
(Pull the flap over your hand – it should be about 2.5 cm shorter than your longest finger. Adjust if needed.)

Shape top

Next row:k1, ssk, k16, k3tog, ssk, k16, k2tog, k1. 38 sts.
Next row:p.
Next row:k1, (ssk, k14, k2tog) twice, k1. 34 sts.
Next row:p.
Next row:k1, (ssk, k12, k2tog) twice, k1. 30 sts.
Next row:p.
Next row: (k1, k3tog tbl, k8, k3tog) twice. 22 sts.
Cast off.
With right sides facing, sew up side.

Left hand

Work as for right hand of glove to **

Work 2 rows in st st, place markers on 24th and 43st sts of last row.
Continue in st st till work is 4.5 cm long from base sts of thumb and complete as right hand glove.

Flap

With 3.25 mm needle cast on 22 sts.
1st row:*k1, p1, rep from * to end.
Rep this row three times.
Leave these sts on a spare needle.
With RSF and 4 mm needle pick up and k 20 sts from marker to marker across back of glove, cast on 1 st. 21 sts.
Next row:p.
Next row:k.
Next row:k21, k over 22 st on spare needle. 43 sts.
Finish off as for glove for right hand.

Finishing off

Crochet or knit loop on tips of flaps. Sew button on rib where flap reaches it when folded back.
