4 balls ELLE TIMBER DK (50 g) in Palm
4.5 mm knitting needles
Beanie
1 ball ELLE TIMBER SERIOUSLY CHUNKY (100 g) in Palm
7 mm knitting needles
Abbreviations
alt – alternative, p – purl, p2sso – slip right hand needle into foll 2 sts as if you would knit them together and slip them on to the right hand needle, k1, sl the 2 sts over the knitted st, rem – remaining, k – knit, kfb – knit into front and back of same stitch, tog –together, dec – decrease
SCARF
With 4.5 mm needles and DK cast on 39 sts.
1st row: k3, *p3, k3, rep from * to end.
2nd row: *k1, p1, rep from * to end. Rep 1st and 2nd rows to 150 cm. Cast off.
FINISHING OFF
For fringe, cut wool lengths of 20.5 cm each. Use 3 strips together for short side fringes as required. Fold strips in half, hook with crochet needle, pull long points through and pull tight.
BEANIE
With 7 mm needles and Chunky cast on 51 sts.
1st row: *k2, p2, rep from * to last 3 sts, k3. Rep 1st row till about 20 cm.
Shape top
1st row: *k2tog, p2tog, rep from * to last 3 sts, k2tog, p1. 26 sts.
2nd row: *k1, p1, rep from * to end. Rep 2nd row 4 times more.
7th row: (k2tog) to end. 13 sts.
8th row: p.
9th row: (k2tog) to end, k1. Cut off, leaving long yarn, thread through rem sts, pull tight and fasten.
FINISHING OFF
Sew up sides. Work on wrong side for last centimetres for turn-up.
