What do you need?
- Use any left-over wool you’ve got. The yarn on the photo is ELLE FAMILY KNIT DK in White, Violet, Turquoise and Coral
• You can make about ten hexagons out of one 50 g ball
• 4 mm needles
Knitting info
Knit strips of hexagons as long as you want the blanket to be and sew them together.
Abbreviations
dec – decrease
g st – garter stitch
inc – increase
k – knit
sts – stitches
Method
For a row starting with a complete hexagon
Cast on 8 sts.
*Next row: k.
Work 10 rows g st and inc 1 st at start of each row. 18 sts.
k 2 rows.
Work 10 rows, dec 1 st at start of each row. 8 sts.
Next row: k.*
Rep from * to * with next colour of choice and continue for as long as you want the blanket to be.
For row starting with half a hexagon
Cast on 18 sts.
Next row: k.
Work 10 rows g st, dec 1 st at start of each row. 8 sts.
Next row: k.
Work from * to * to desired length and end with half a hexagon as follows:
Next row: k.
Knit 10 rows, inc 1 st at start of each row. 18 sts.
Cast off.
To round off
Sew strips together.
